The ANKOSLink Conference, which has been held regularly since its establishment and moved to a new dimension with the name ANKOSLink in 2012, was held for the 5th time this year with the theme of Change in Teaching and Learning and Libraries at Maritim Congress Center in Antalya between 5-8 April 2017. It was performed.
In the last four years, ANKOSLink Conference has become the biggest library meeting of our country with its academic quality, participant profile and rich fair environment. Over 550 participants have become an indispensable brand in the library sector with the support of nearly 60 companies.
It remains an important address not only for libraries and librarians, but also for academics, administrators, archivists, museums, technologists, students and information professionals at all levels.
The theme of the 2017 ANKOSLink Conference is Değişim Change in Learning and Teaching and Libraries ”; how library services are transformed into new services due to the change in learning and teaching in recent years, what new product groups we encounter, what are the needs of librarians, information professionals to exist on different platforms, what impacts of distance education activities or mass open access courses have on conventional formal education. is expected to be, this exchange of information industry in the near and distant future in response to the questions will affect how respected keynote speakers and topics were discussed by experts from Turkey and other countries.
For the first time this year, poster presentations were made, as well as presentations and panels at the conference. In accordance with the theme of ANKOSLink 2017 and ANKOS’s fields of activity, information literacy trainings, orientations, good practices from e-learning tools, e-resources, open access, resource sharing, consortium models, academic libraries, online bulletins, mobile applications etc. posters on subjects were exhibited throughout the conference.
In addition, as every year, many opportunities to learn about the products and innovations of stakeholder publisher institutions continued during these 3 days.
ANKOSLink has successfully accomplished its mission to gather all the necessary resources to keep up with the latest developments, develop new services and improve existing services. Over 500 people and 54 companies from 17 different countries participated in the international conference, which is the driving force of the field of librarianship and led the sector. In 8 different sessions, the change in the world of learning and teaching and its impact on librarians were discussed with 16 different speakers.
After the conference, a survey was conducted to get the opinions of the valuable participants. According to the results; 216 out of 262 participants rated the ANKOSLink Conference as good / very good. These results reflect the high level of satisfaction of the participants. On behalf of the librarianship and the whole information sector, these positive evaluations are pleasing and promising. At the same time, it shows that ANKOS has achieved its target and its success.
The evaluations of all participants are undoubtedly guiding in all the works to be done and to be carried out in order to create new cooperation and common working areas and to increase professional communication and cooperation.
