The ANKOSLink 2025 International Conference<\/strong>, organized by the Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS)<\/strong>, was held in Ankara between November 4\u20136, 2025<\/strong>, in cooperation with and under the auspices of the Presidential Nation\u2019s Library<\/strong>.
With its main theme \u201cLibrary 5.0: Human Re-Centered Digital Transformation,\u201d<\/strong> the conference became one of the most comprehensive international gatherings in the field of academic information, bringing together 250 institutions from 30 countries, nearly 100 companies, and 700 participants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The opening speeches<\/strong> were delivered by Ayhan TU\u011eLU<\/strong>, Director of the Presidential Libraries; \u0130smail \u00c7ET\u0130NKAYA<\/strong>, President of ANKOS; and Prof. Dr. Erol \u00d6ZVAR<\/strong>, President of the Council of Higher Education (Y\u00d6K). The speakers emphasized the rapid transformation of information technologies and its impact on libraries and scholarly communication, underlining that the concept of \u201cLibrary 5.0\u201d<\/strong> represents a human-centered process of digital transformation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Over the course of three days, five panels were held, each shaping the digital transformation vision of libraries.<\/p>\n

\n

Transformation in Academic Publishing<\/h4>\n

The first-day panel, titled \u201cTransformation in Academic Publishing,\u201d<\/strong> was moderated by Prof. Dr. Y\u0131lmaz \u00c7ATAL<\/strong>, Rector of Isparta University of Applied Sciences.
Panelists included M. Mirat SATO\u011eLU<\/strong> (Director, T\u00dcB\u0130TAK ULAKB\u0130M), G\u00fcltekin G\u00dcRDAL<\/strong> (Director, Library and Documentation Department, Izmir Institute of Technology), Asst. Prof. Gizem G\u00fcltekin-V\u00e1rkonyi<\/strong> (University of Szeged), and Mehmet Cem FENDO\u011eLU<\/strong> (Head, Education Department, Presidency of Strategy and Budget).
Discussions centered on the evolution of open science policies<\/strong>, emerging trends in academic publishing<\/strong>, the impact of artificial intelligence on scholarly production<\/strong>, and the current state and expectations of university library budgets<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Preserving Digital Content and Ensuring Continuous Access in Libraries<\/h4>\n

On the second day, the panel \u201cPreserving Digital Content and Ensuring Continuous Access in Libraries\u201d<\/strong> was moderated by Dr. \u00d6nder BAYIR<\/strong>, Director of the Library and Documentation Department at Marmara University.
Speakers included Prof. Dr. M\u00fcjdat SOYT\u00dcRK<\/strong> (Marmara University), Fikri Arda CANPOLAT<\/strong> (Chairman, Center for Cyber Diplomacy), and Ece TUFANYAZICI<\/strong> (Istanbul Bilgi University).
The session explored secure preservation of digital content<\/strong>, data continuity<\/strong>, open-access infrastructures<\/strong>, and information security approaches<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Researcher Expectations in University Libraries in the Age of Artificial Intelligence<\/h4>\n

Later that day, the panel \u201cResearcher Expectations in University Libraries in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,\u201d<\/strong> moderated by Prof. Dr. U\u011fur \u00dcNAL<\/strong>, Rector of Gazi University, brought together several university rectors.
Participants included Prof. Dr. Atilla ARKAN<\/strong> (Ibn Haldun University), Prof. Dr. Musa Kaz\u0131m ARICAN<\/strong> (Ankara Social Sciences University), Prof. Dr. Selim KARAHASANO\u011eLU<\/strong> (Izmir Democracy University), and Prof. Dr. Hamdullah \u00c7UVALCI<\/strong> (Karadeniz Technical University).
Discussions focused on the strategic role of university libraries in research processes<\/strong>, researchers\u2019 expectations from digital transformation<\/strong>, and the future of AI-supported information services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Library 5.0: Human-Centered Practices<\/h4>\n

At the end of the same day, the panel \u201cLibrary 5.0: Human-Centered Practices,\u201d<\/strong> moderated by Tuba AKBAYT\u00dcRK \u00c7ANAK<\/strong>, Library Director of Ko\u00e7 University, featured Judit Gerencser<\/strong> (Deputy Director General, National Sz\u00e9ch\u00e9nyi Library, Hungary), Ayhan TU\u011eLU<\/strong> (Director, Presidential Libraries), and Taner BEYO\u011eLU<\/strong> (Director General of Libraries and Publications, Ministry of Culture and Tourism).
This session discussed the redefinition of human-centered service models within libraries\u2019 technological transformation<\/strong>, the evolution of user experience through digitalization<\/strong>, and sustainable innovative practices in public libraries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Reconstructing Academic Knowledge through Artificial Intelligence and the Competencies of Librarians<\/h4>\n

On the final day, the panel \u201cReconstructing Academic Knowledge through Artificial Intelligence and the Competencies of Librarians,\u201d<\/strong> moderated by Dr. Sami \u00c7UHADAR<\/strong>, Library Director of Istanbul Bilgi University, included Bas STRAUB<\/strong> (General Manager, Dixon & Straub), Prof. Dr. Co\u015fkun POLAT<\/strong> (Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, \u00c7ank\u0131r\u0131 Karatekin University), and Ertu\u011frul \u00c7\u0130MEN<\/strong> (Library Director, MEF University; President of the IFLA Global Council).
The discussion addressed the transformative influence of artificial intelligence on academic knowledge production<\/strong>, the evolving roles and skill sets of librarians<\/strong>, and the emerging professional identities of information specialists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Technical Sessions and Poster Presentations<\/h4>\n

Throughout the three-day event, technical sessions organized by participating companies<\/strong> introduced the latest developments in information technologies, open access, data analytics, digital content management, research evaluation systems,<\/strong> and AI applications<\/strong>.
In the poster area<\/strong>, ten posters were presented by researchers and librarians from Turkish universities, focusing on digital transformation<\/strong>, AI applications<\/strong>, and open science policies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Gala Night and Awards<\/h4>\n

The Gala Program<\/strong>, held on the evening of the second day at Gazi University Cultural Center<\/strong>, offered memorable moments.
During the event, appreciation plaques were presented to companies holding Diamond and Main Sponsorship<\/strong> status.
In addition, the top three poster submissions\u2014selected by the jury\u2014were awarded plaques.
The evening concluded with musical performances and social activities<\/strong>, fostering an atmosphere of academic collaboration and community spirit.<\/p>\n

Closing Ceremony and Presidential Address<\/h4>\n

The final session of the conference carried historical significance with the participation of Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri ERSOY<\/strong> and President Recep Tayyip ERDO\u011eAN<\/strong>.
In his address, President ERDO\u011eAN<\/strong> greeted the participants and emphasized the importance of this meaningful event that unites the realms of knowledge and culture.
He conveyed his best wishes for the conference\u2019s success, expressing hope that it would yield beneficial outcomes for both the country and the library community, and extended congratulations to ANKOS<\/strong> and the Presidential Nation\u2019s Library<\/strong> for their exemplary organization.<\/p>\n

A Successful Conclusion<\/h4>\n

Hosted by the Presidential Nation\u2019s Library<\/strong>, the ANKOSLink 2025 International Conference<\/strong> concluded successfully, leaving a significant mark in the fields of information access, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence<\/strong> through its collective vision and spirit of collaboration.<\/p>\n
